This page documents the damage caused by the flood Tuesday June 27 2006 Click on thumbnail view of picture below to see a larger view. The most recent pictures are at bottom. Popes Creek overflowed and came over top of Clifton Rd. / Main Street see the debris on the guard rail Clifton Creek Rd and a telephone box knocked over look at the wire supporting the pole, see how high the water level got in the filed behind the Lodge, that is about 4 feet high This is the side of the Lodge closes to the creek, see the water level mark on the oil tank, that is 17 inches high. The water marks on the door are near 6 inches high. Now have a look at the floor Now have a closer look at the floor, that chair does not sit very level, the entire floor has swollen-up and buckled like this Kitchen floor has raised up I set out some stuff to dry. water level marks of counter, 5.5 inches Carpet is trashed, hard to see here but all the wood paneling along the west wall from the floor up twelve inches has swollen-up and buckled and is coming off the wall. I spread out some book to dry. The water heater and toilet were under 9-1/4 inches of water. The white spots in the mud are my foot prints. Wednesday June 28 2006 The above pictures are of the crawlspace under the Lodge full of water, sine there is no access, all I could do was put my hand in a whole and snap pictures. Most of the water as already reseeded They show the foundation supports are compromised. |
