Acacia Lodge No. 16 has an email group list which is used to improve communications among the membership. If you would like to be emailed our monthly Trestleboard (newsletter) add your email address to our group email list. By adding your email address to the Acacia Lodge No. 16 group email list, you will help assure you receive important lodge communications in a timely manner, for example, meeting schedules or changes, special events, sick and distress notices, and much more.
The following are instructions to help you understand the use of the email group list.
A email group list is an automated email system where the members on the list can send a message to a single address and the message will be sent to all email addresses that are listed in the database file of the email group list. You must be a member on the email group list in order to send a message to the members of the email group list.

The email email group list is used in the following manner:
The email group list is for members of Acacia Lodge No. 16 and others to pass on information to the membership that would be of interest to the majority of the members on the email group list. Lengthy discussions or "statements of opinion on various subjects" ARE NOT allowed on the email group list. JOKES and TRIVIA type messages are also forbidden. Poems, and related "subject matter" are not appropriate for this email group list because of the volume of message traffic that they usually generate. The goal for the email group list is to keep the message length and volume of messages to a minimum for the benefit of the many Brethren who receive their email notifications through their office or "business" communication systems. Experience has shown that as the volume of messages on a email group list increase, the group list membership starts to drop off. Most members DO NOT like to receive a high volume of messages. When they do, they simply drop off the email group list to prevent the messages from being delivered to their inbox. Once a member drops off, they usually do not rejoin and this affects the effectiveness of the email group list. The email group list should be used to send out important information but the volume of messages should be kept to an absolute minimum.
Discussions on national or local POLITICS or on RELIGIONS ARE NOT allowed on this email group list.
A condition of joining the email group lists is that you will agree to abide by the usage rules that have been established for the email group list. Anyone who fails, by their actions, to follow the rules, will have their email address removed from the email group list and will be prevented from rejoining at the discretion of the email group list owner.
A major point to remember. When you send a message to the email group list address, it is received by a large number of members. This is not a tiled meeting. You should treat your information or comments in the same manner as if you are speaking outside of a tiled Lodge meeting. Do not discuss anything that is not proper to be made known to a Non-Mason. Also, please remember the obligations you accepted when you became a Mason. It is not proper to speak badly about a Brother Master Mason or of the actions of the officers of a Lodge in any form, more especially in this form. Honor your Brothers and the fraternity by your own proper actions.

To join the Acacia16 email group list -
You have three options in which to join the Acacia Lodge No. 16 email group list
(1) Enter your email address in the Google groups Email: box below and click Subscribe

(2) by sending a message to: acacia16-subscribe@acacia16.org The system will email you back a confirmation email which you must respond to in order to complete the subscribe process.
(3) visit the groups website at http://groups.google.com/group/Acacia16 and follow the instructions under Apply for group membership.
If you are not able to join the email group list by following the instructions or have any questions you can send a message to Webmaster@Acacia16.org and the Administrator will add your address to the email group list manually.
After you join a email group list - Once on the email group list, you can send a message to everyone on the list by sending a email message to: Acacia16@Acacia16.org If you have more then one email address: You must send messages to the email group list from the email address you subscribed with, otherwise your message will be rejected.
Once on the email group list, you can get off the list by sending a message to: acacia16-unsubscribe@acacia16.org or by visiting the groups website http://groups.google.com/group/Acacia16 and managing your subscription settings.
